I teach kindergarten. Every January I see which Christmas and birthday presents come back to school in a backpack and which ones never leave the closet. These guides are that January view, written in September so you can use it.
The order is based on three things: whether the gift fits the year the child is actually in, what parents report back after a month, and whether it is still out on the table in January.
